This is me at one of my favorite places--the beach at Lincoln City!!! 

I love to come to the beach to write and, of course, several of my mysteries are set there.

The beach restores me—gives me hope and perspective.  I’m reminded that though the world is sometimes a scary and lonely place—help is often only a word or a person away.

Have you ever wanted those successes certain writers tell us are ours simply by wishing it so? Things like money, life, wholeness, peace, or just a few days without crisis?

My website is about people and books, about life and about me. You undoubtedly know people who think they have all the answers.  Well, now you’ve met someone who actually does.

Okay, maybe not all the answers, but over a span of sixty plus years I have learned a thing or two. And, since I love to teach and share, I’ll be more than happy to impart some of my wisdom to you.

At this point you are probably wondering, “Who is this person?” Or maybe you’ve already tossed me aside as a flake.  If you have, you would be right in part. I am a flake, I am also a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, an ex-nurse, mentor and a counselor with a master’s degree. I’m a closet theologian, a philosopher, conference director, gourmet cook, quilter, knitter and an artist with a bent toward words.

It is the words that I enjoy the most—gathering them together on a page to create compelling characters and intriguing plots. To paint words and people that can help yo to find answers, regardless of what you might be going through.

How can words do all of this?

When I began writing, it was in the spirit of helping people survive and thrive through difficult times. The mother, nurse and counselor in me searched for ways to give wounded people answers—not so much to get rid of the problems, though that can happen, but to work through their struggles and come out stronger, more secure, and better able to cope with whatever life throws their way. 

Even now after 46 books, this continues to be my goal whether I write how-to books or novels; whether I write for adults or for children.
